 Location: Chambliss Building, ABAC CAMPUS, 2802 Moore Hwy, Tifton, GA 31793

  School Group Sign-ups will be sent the Friday after registration closes, which will be February 26th  via Google DOCS.

 Special Covid 19 Adaptations:

-EACH STUDENT WILL NEED TO HAVE A SET OF TOOLS THAT MUST BE BROUGHT WITH THEM FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT. NO TOOLS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM THE SOUTH REGION STAFF!

YOU WILL NEED FOR EACH STUDENT:

Wire strippers

Needle nose pliers

#2 Phillips screwdriver or equivalent

Flat head screwdriver

Tape Measure with no increments printed on the tape

Optional: Linesman Pliers

Welding Helmet – Shade 10 minimum

Body cover- leathers, Shop Jackets, non-flammable Coveralls

Welding Gloves

Pliers/Tongs

Safety glasses –approved with shields

Wire brush

Soapstone

Chipping Hammer

-FOR ELECTRICAL, SMALL ENGINE AS WELL AS WELDING EVENTS, STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO USE GLOVES TO HANDLE THE ITEMS TO BE USED.  RUBBER GLOVES WILL BE PROVIDED ON SITE BUT IT IS BEST FOR YOU TO PRACTICE AND BRING YOUR OWN IN PREPARATION FOR THE EVENT. THE STUDENTS OWN MECHANIC GLOVES WILL SUFFICE FOR THIS REQUIREMENT IN THE ELECTRICAL AND SMALL ENGINE PRACTICUM. APPROVED WELDING GLOVES WILL BE SUFFICE FOR THIS PROTOCOL IN THE WELDING PRACTICUM ONLY. NO WELDING PPE WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE SOUTH REGION STAFF!

-ALL REGISTERED TEAMS UNABLE TO ATTEND DUE TO COVID RELATED SCHOOL TRAVEL SANCTIONS SHALL BE REPORTED BY NOON THE DAY BEFORE.

 -ATTENDANCE BY LESS THAN 50% OF REGISTERED TEAMS DUE TO COVID RELATED SCHOOL TRAVEL SANCTIONS WILL RESULT IN CANCELLATION OF THE EVENT.

-TO CONDUCT EVENT IN PERSON WE SHALL MAINTAIN 6’ SOCIAL DISTANCE AND WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES (THIS INCLUDES OUTSIDE). 

 -ONLY ONE INDIVIDUAL (TEACHER/FFA ADVISOR) SHALL COME TO CHECK IN, ALL OTHER PERSONS PLEASE WAIT IN VEHICLE UNTIL IT IS TIME TO BEGIN.

 -PROVIDING YOUR OWN THERMOMETER AND PRIOR TO LEAVING TO TRAVEL TO THE EVENT, CHECK THE TEMPERATURE OF YOU AND YOUR STUDENTS AND BE PREPARED TO RECORD READINGS AT REGISTRATION.

 -ALL TEAM MEMBERS WILL BE IN THE SAME ROTATION. TEACHERS WILL BE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO ASSIST IN MONITORING THEIR STUDENTS DURING THE EVENT TO KEEP PERCEPTION OF SHARING ANSWERS TO A MINIMUM.

 -NO HANGING AROUND IF YOU ARE NOT ASSISTING WITH THE EVENT PLEASE GO BACK TO YOUR VEHICLE, YOU CAN FACETIME, TEXT, AND CALL ONE ANOTHER.

-AFTER THE EVENT IS OVER, LEAVE NO HANGING AROUND, YOU CAN FACETIME, TEXT, AND CALL ONE ANOTHER.

-I DO NOT LIKE THE MASK DEAL EITHER, BUT IF WE ARE GOING TO HAVE THE EVENT THIS IS WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO. IF YOU AND YOUR STUDENT ARE UNWILLING TO WEAR A MASK PLEASE DO NOT COME TO SAVE THE BOTH OF US FROM HAVING THAT CONVERSATION WITH ONE ANOTHER.

-IN THE EVENT THE ATM CDE IS CANCELLED DUE TO COVID RELATED SCHOOL TRAVEL SANCTIONS 

IT SHALL BE RESCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, MARCH 8TH TO BE CONDUCTED VIRTUALLY!!!!

-RESULTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED THE FOLLOWING DAY, FRIDAY MARCH 5TH AFTER LUNCH

 To register for the CDE:

Go to the AG. Ed. Website and log in

Click on Event Registration

Click on Area 5 or Area 6 (Agricultural Technology and Mechanics CDE) CDE Registration

Click on the edit for each team that you are registering

 Event Registration Ends on Thursday, February 25th, 2021 - 12:00PM

 The Area 5 & 6 ATM CDE will involve:  

 Electrical Wiring (3 box problem)

Motors Practicum – Compact Equipment

Welding GMAW 3/16” steel, flat butt weld

Exam  

Team Activity – Differential Leveling
