Futurity Reminders
 *   Barns do not open until 7:00am on Thursday July 9.  Tie-outs will NOT be available for overnight accommodations on Wednesday.  Please plan accordingly.
  *   We will be stalling in the Multi-Purpose Barn (lower barn).  Check-in will be in Practice Ring #3. We will show in Sutherland Arena (diagram attached).  The middle door will be closed - the right door will be used to enter and the left door will be the exit.  Only one person will be allowed to enter the holding area with the exhibitor until they enter the ring.  Once the exhibitor enters the ring, the additional person will be asked to leave the floor of the ring and enter the seating area.  It is our intention to follow social distancing recommendations-please help us. This will strictly be enforced!
  *   Stalling assignments and a barn map are attached. They will also be posted at the Beef Office, located in the NE corner of the MPB.  One person will be allowed to enter the office to pick up chute or Port-a Cool Tags only.  If you don't have anything to pick up, please do not enter the office.
  *   All blocking chutes must have a 2020 chute tag.  If you did not pre-order, you may purchase them at the Beef Office for $25.
  *   Port-a-cools must have been pre-registered.  Do not bring one if you have not requested a tag for one.
  *   NO DOGS are allowed in the barns or show ring during the Futurity.  Please make arrangements to leave them at home!
  *   Pre- ordered Georgia Junior Beef Futurity T-Shirts will be available for pick up during check in on Thursday in Practice Ring #3.  Remaining shirts will be available for pick up Friday-Saturday at a table located at the announcers table in Sutherland Arena.  We will begin selling extra shirts at the beginning of the Steer Show, Friday afternoon and until we conclude the show on Saturday.
  *   The Scholarship Competition will be held on the North Concourse of Sutherland Arena at 2:00PM on Thursday, July 9.
  *   Premium vouchers will be given out during the show at a table near the Announcer's Stand in Sutherland Arena. The completed voucher should be returned to the premium table along with a chaperoning adult (parent, guardian, ag teacher or agent) to receive your cash premium.  All premiums must be picked up within 30 minutes after the conclusion of the show on July 11, 2020.  Please don't wait till the end of the show to pick up your premiums.  No money will be mailed.  Premiums not picked up will be forfeited.
  *   Panels are allowed to be set up as pens in tie-outs for cattle. Maximum pen space per animal should not exceed 12x12. Pens are encouraged to be set up along the chain link fence. Exhibitors are responsible for insuring the pens/animals are secured.
  *   Please remember that we are fortunate to have a wonderful livestock facility for our youth to exhibit their 4-H and FFA projects.  While in Perry this weekend, please be sure to dump manure in the clearly marked manure areas.  Also, be sure to pick up empty aerosol cans and other trash and place in trash receptacles-not in your stalls.

COVID-19 Update

Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter Update:
Please view the following information provided by Philip Gentry, Youth Director at the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter:

  1. The Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter COVID-19 Guidelines and Rulebook (attached) was prepared following CDC guidelines and the most current information from the Governors Executive orders.
  2. The guideline has been reviewed and approved by Govenor Kemp’s office.
  3. Masks are encouraged, but not required.
  4. The Georgia Junior Beef Futurity is considered a “Private” event and not open to the general public. Entry on grounds will require “credentials”.
  5. Each individual that enters the grounds will have to complete the COVID-19 waiver (attached) that is located at the back of the Guidelines. This waiver will be turned in at the security building to GNFA.  Upon receiving a signed waiver, individuals will receive an wristband that will be good for the duration of the show.  This wrist band must remain on for the duration of the show.  If it is removed or lost, a new waiver will have to be completed and placed on file.
  6. An event roster with Name, address, and phone number of each individual that enters the grounds will be kept for the duration of the show. This roster will be located at the security guard shack.
  7. *To expedite arrival, please have your GNFA COVID-19 Waiver Form(s) completed for all those that are attending (including exhibitors, family members and guests).

In addition to the measures outlined in the guideline, GNFA will be taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of employees and guests alike. GNFA staff will wear face coverings and other PPE when interacting with the public. GNFA will also be screening all employees for COVID symptoms daily. GNFA will also disinfect public areas daily with EPA approved sanitizers. Hand sanitizing stations will be readily available.

This guideline is a living document and will be updated as we are given information on this situation based upon the recommendations from the Governor’s Office and state and local health officials.

Please let us know if you have any questions and we will keep you updated on information as it is made available.
