About WLC
The 2026 Washington Leadership Conference Bus Trip will take place June 15-
20, 2026. Georgia FFA has reserved spots for 40 students and 5 advisor chaperones to
attend the conference. Students will have an opportunity of a lifetime to tour our
nation’s capital, see historical artifacts all over Washington, D.C. as well as meet and
grow their leadership skills with students from all over the United States.
The cost of WLC includes travel, lodging, and meals. The student fee is $1,325
and the advisor fee is $1,507. The Georgia FFA Foundation along with its generous
donors and supporters provides funds for WLC scholarships. You can find the 2026
WLC Scholarship Application attached to this email. Please note that the application
form has been revised for 2026. Do not submit the previous year’s application format, as
they will not be considered. Additionally, it will be on the GAAGED website under
applications.

All high school FFA members are eligible to apply, but priority is given to
current 10th and 11th grade students. The scholarship application is competitive,
therefore students who have previously received a scholarship will not be considered.
WLC applications are due to the state FFA office on March 2, 2026. Submit a
completed copy of the registration form (attached to this email) with your student’s
application paperwork. This information is vital for our office to register students for the
conference who receive a scholarship. Please submit all application paperwork
requested in one PDF document.

The scholarship recipients will be announced in March. WLC registration material for all attendees, both scholarship and those paying their own way, is due to the state FFA office by April 2, 2026. A $500 deposit is due with the registration form to confirm a spot on the bus. The remaining balance for WLC is
due to the state FFA office by May 1, 2026. Students who submit a $500 deposit with
their registration material and receive a scholarship will have their deposit funds
returned.
The 2026 bus trip will have 5 advisor spots available. The advisor portion of the
WLC trip is a great way to not only see our nation's capital, but also to engage with other
agricultural education teachers from across the nation. With few spots for advisors the
registration form and deposit are the only way to hold your spot on the bus. If you
student does not receive a scholarship and you no longer plan to attend your deposit
check will be returned. If you or your students are interested in attending WLC and have
additional questions, please call me at (706) 988-2033.
If your student receives a National FFA travel assistance grant they are eligible to
apply for a state scholarship, however it does not guarantee that they will receive one.
