GNF AG. Mechanics ID Contests
This is great practice for the area competitions.

CONTEST RULES:
1. The Ag, Mechanics ID Contest is open to any FFA member who is currently enrolled in grades 6-12. Each school and members are encouraged to have other displays in the Agricultural Mechanics Department. (Chapter display, mini booths and dendrology notebooks.)
2. Each school may enter as many alternates as they like, but only 10 students may participate. Chapters must register each student through the GNFA online registration process.
3. Contestants must bring a pencil and clipboard. Identification numbers will be written on answer sheet from the list.
4. Each member will identify tools and/or equipment from the FFA Ag. Technology and Equipment ID list located on the following page: Senior Division will have to ID 50 items & Junior Division will have to ID 40 items. Students may be required to identify the item from actual samples, a photograph, a written description or a use of the items, such as work that needs a certain tool to be completed properly. Each division will have 10 tiebreakers. Students are required to be present to break ties.
5. Scoring for both junior and senior teams will be the same. The chapter score is the total of five team members designated before the contest starts.
A team representing a chapter will consist of five members.
Team members must be designated before competition begins.
Junior teams will be composed of 6th - 9th grades.
Senior teams will be composed of 9th - 12th grades; however a student may compete on only one team.

Registration
Advisors must register for both events online through the Georgia National Fair website:

§ Registration Deadline: Wednesday, September 23rd
§ You must have a password to register. You may use your login from last year or request a new password by Monday, September 21st by calling or emailing the fair office:
o 800-987-3247, ext. 555 or email contests@gnfa.com
o May take up to 2 days to receive your password – do not wait until the last minute to request
o When requesting a password, include the following:
§ Chapter Name (full name) FFA
§ Chapter address
§ Chapter phone number
§ Teacher/advisor name and email
§ Important Reminders:
o Log in as a CLUB to register.
o Entries will all be in the Club Name (“School Name” then 4-H, FFA, etc.).
o Enter your student names in the Student Name Field.
o You must complete registration and receive a confirmation number to be registered.
§ We DO NOT have your password in the region office; only the fair has your password and can grant you access to their system.
