The new school year is here, and it is time to start planning for the Georgia National Fair in Perry. Entering projects into the Georgia National Fair is a great way to meet the SAE part of our standards. There is a lot available for your forestry/wildlife students at the fair. An incentive for your students might be a chance to win individual prize money.
Each chapter is eligible to enter:
· 5 Mini Forestry/Natural Resources Booths
o Individual or team of two; each chapter is limited to five
o No theme, but must be forestry/natural resources-related.
o Scoring Rubric - See page 22
· 1 Large Chapter Forestry/Natural Resources Booth
o Theme - "Rooted in Tradition: Celebrating 250 Years of History in
America’s Forest Industry"

The exhibit must be an example of a school’s instructional program in forestry/natural resources and tell the story of how the school is meeting the needs of students in forestry education.

Dimensions: 4’x4’x5’6” triangle, with a two-sided backdrop of 4’x8’ panels hinged together.

· 6 Dendrology Notebooks
o Species should come from the Forestry Field Day Tree ID list.

36 forest tree species (JR) & 40 forest tree species (SR).

Each notebook must contain a minimum of 6 conifers, four which must be Loblolly, Longleaf, Shortleaf, and Slash pines.
o 3 student’s leaf collection can complete in each division; total of 6.

You must have a password to register. You may use your login from last year or request a new password by Monday, September 21st by calling or emailing the fair office:
o 800-987-3247, ext. 555 or email contests@gnfa.com
o May take up to 2 days to receive your password – do not wait
until the last minute to request
o When requesting a password, include the following:
o Log in as a CLUB to register.
o Entries will all be in the Club Name (“School Name” then 4-H, FFA, etc.).
o Enter your student names in the Student Name Field.
o You must complete registration and receive a confirmation number to be registered.
We DO NOT have your password in the region office; only the fair has your password and can grant you access to their system.
