			Registration is open for the Agricultural Technology & Mechanical Systems CDE and will close on 2/5/2026 12:00:00 PM Area 5 & Area 6 - February 26th - Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Registration at 1:30 PM The CDE will start at 2:00 PM. Anticipated Schedule: Campus Map Teachers, please see the anticipated rotation schedule attached to this email. This is only an example!! When registration closes on the 5th of Febuary a detailed schedule will be emailed to the participating programs on Friday, February 6th. Call me if you have any questions on this rotation schedule. 2:00 PM - Teams begin to report to the Chambliss Building for the Structures (Welding) activity. 4:00 - 4:30 PM - Upon completion of the Structures activity, teams will report to the Ag Technology Building for the Energy Systems, Compact Equipment, ENR, and Team Activity Practicum rotations. 7:00 PM Adjournment. (Projected) Remember that this CDE is for FFA members in grades 9-12 and that each team has four participants with all four scores counting. Each student will complete all four skill events of Electricity, Compact Equipment, Environmental Natural Resources, and Structures. Students will have 25 minutes to complete each of these skills. Students will also work together as a team to complete a team activity (25 min at Area and 60 minutes at State) All the specific details for this year's CDE are in the CDE description sheet. 			As you by now know, one of our own in Agricultural Education, Mrs. Rachel Kinsaul, is the Georgia Teacher of the Year. Rachel is encouraging a Georgia Public Schools Day of Service on Wednesday, March 18, and is asking us in agricultural education to be leaders in this effort with her. Below is a link to a video message from Rachel with details. I encourage you to watch this video and find a way to prioritize some time to engage your students in a service project in your communities on March 18. CLICK HERE for video As you make plans for how your chapter can participate, I ask you do two things. First, please let your Region staff and/or me know what your plans are. We are interested in getting out to see and participate with some chapters on that day of service, and we want to be ready to support the work you and your students are doing. Second, as Rachel mentions in her video, be sure to get good photos of the work your students do on March 18, and keep some record of what occurred (how many students, results of impact in community, etc.) Mrs. Katibeth Wise on our staff is always looking for good chapter stories to highlight on our Georgia FFA social media.
